SAN FRANCISCO, November 14, 2014 — Lookout, the global leader in mobile security, has added two key executives to its leadership team: Aaron Cockerill as Vice President of Enterprise Product and David Helfer as Vice President of Worldwide Channel Development. Bringing decades of enterprise experience, from companies like Citrix and Juniper to the Lookout team, these hires are the latest developments in the company’s continued expansion into the large enterprise market.
Mobile devices are entering the workplace with velocity, creating a threat vector that current IT security solutions are not equipped to adequately handle. In the next year, Ponemon Institute predicts that nearly half of employees will use mobile devices exclusively to do their work. These devices store and transmit immense amounts of data, are highly portable and constantly connected to unsecured networks, making mobile an extremely weak link in the enterprise IT security ecosystem.

At Lookout, Cockerill is responsible for delivering enterprise products that leverage the company’s cloud-based security platform, powered by intelligence from more than 50 million mobile devices, to stop mobile attacks before an enterprise is threatened. With more than 25 years of enterprise software experience, he joins Lookout from Citrix Systems, where he shaped the mobility offering and drove the strategy and execution behind the acquisition that produced Citrix XenMobile, a mobile device and app management solution.

Helfer is leading the effort to develop Lookout’s worldwide channel program, a key fixture of the company’s enterprise expansion strategy. In this role, he will secure partnerships with value added resellers (VARs), systems integrators and distributors around the world. Before joining Lookout, Helfer spent 14 years at Juniper Networks where he led a multi-billion dollar channel organization, along with inside sales and territory sales teams. Under his leadership, Juniper received numerous awards for its innovative channel programs.
This latest announcement comes on the heels of significant corporate momentum for Lookout. In August, the company completed a $150 million round of financing, which is being put to use to extend its reach to large enterprises and federal agencies. Earlier in October, Lookout added top Japanese mobile network operator, KDDI, to its roster of global carrier partners, which includes AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, EE, Orange, Sprint and T-Mobile. The company also recently announced a new technology development center in Boston.
