This is the first IDC MarketScape for Mobile Threat Management, indicating that the market is growing and enterprises are more rapidly adopting these solutions. The IDC MarketScape recognizes that Lookout is a Leader in this maturing segment of security technology.
The first sentence of this year's Gartner Market Guide for Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) delivers the report's bottom line. It begins, "The signs are clear that mobile threats can no longer be ignored.*" We believe this statement can be seen as another credible call to action that leaving mobile endpoints unsecured presents an urgent risk to corporate, government, and regulated personal data.
Gartner recently released its July 2017 Hype Cycle for Mobile Security 2017, confirming my belief that mobile threat defense (MTD) has matured as a key enterprise security technology through the consolidation of other mobile security solutions.
At this year's Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit, we saw Gartner focus in on mobile security, specifically mobile threat defense, highlighting the more urgent need for comprehensive protection.
